Their
repertoire is not
only based on the music they like but is a selection
chosen specially for it's power to engage, please, entertain and
capture our audiences. A fine blend of styles from across the
eras, every song is known, every song is recognisable.
More than 1400 gigs performed world wide
since 1995 in every imaginable context...
and quite a few unimaginable!
They have been working
consistently on their repertoire, updating regularly to create
the right cocktail - one of Val Kelly's specialities. The way
she organises it, presents it and the way we perform it is different
at every engagement.

Always
taking into consideration the wide age range of each audience,
their primary role is to swiflty ascertain the appropriate styles,
songs and mood with which to start off the evening and from there
to 'build things up' so that the night ends a raving success and
on a memorable high.
Live on the real stages of the world ~ sometimes
on English country lawns, sometimes on the top of 3000 meter high
French ski slopes, sometimes on sandy beaches from The Riviera
to islands of paradise in S.E Asia, sometimes on the balconies
of Italian villas, sometimes in tiny lounges of private houses,
sometimes in huge marquees, sometimes in exclusively decadent
night clubs, sometimes in front of the biggest fortunes in the
world, sometimes in the downtown joints of Bangkok, sometimes
in front of Royalty, sometimes in the pub down the road, sometimes
in the rain, sometimes in the grounds of sumptuous Buddhist temples
in the middle of the Gulf of Siam, sometimes in the majestic halls
of prestigious English educational institutions, and other times
on the enormous stages of international festivals...

~ this band has played
in front of many thousands of people and to hundreds of different
types of audience. This is where they have developed and fine
tuned their versatility and power of adaptation. In the process
they have truly mastered their ability to read any room and to
please all audiences, regardless: they know their job well.
For Jewish celebrations
- Barmitvah, Batmitvah, wedding - they have a repertoire of 15-20min
of traditional Israeli songs. An excellent Jewish female vocalist
usually joins them to sing those songs - when available.
People are different,
cultures are different, occasions are different. Not one wedding,
birthday, corporate event, festival is the same. Every night in
the same club is a different night.
Whether for
sophisticated ambient background Jazz, kicking dance music or
a mix of both, without a doubt, Freespirit has all the necessary
ingredients, flair and magic to set any occasion alight. |
